What should you look for in a physiotherapist?

How much time does the physio actually spend one on one with you?

In order for a physiotherapist to develop the necessary understanding of your body and your individual problem/s, it is very important for that physio to be able to spend adequate time with you without interruption. At BodyViva, our physio appointments are carried out in purpose built treatment rooms to allow the privacy and comfort that ensure we can help you in the best way possible. You will be the only patient the physio attends to for the duration of your appointment.

How much hands-on treatment does the physio provide?

Our clinical experience here at BodyViva has shown us the value of hands-on treatment as an extremely important part in the treatment of the majority of problems that present to us. We consider ourselves to be very ‘hands-on’ physio’s.

Is the physio focused on achieving your individual goals?

Each individual has a unique set of circumstances, and people go to physiotherapists for many different reasons. It is important that your physio takes the time to listen to your own concerns and to discuss what you would like to get out of your treatment or rehabilitation.

Does the physio show genuine care and concern for your outcome?

Whether you’re seeing a physio, chiro, massage therapist, or even a doctor, it is very important that you get a strong feeling that he/she actually cares about your treatment and your outcome. We are very picky here at BodyViva, and only bring therapists on board that possess the characteristics of genuine care and concern for every patient they treat. This has allowed us to develop a great reputation in our local community as a very friendly and caring clinic in that we do our very best for every person that walks through our door.

How well does the physio explain to you what they are doing and why?

It is important that you feel comfortable and confident with the treatment you are receiving. Having an understanding of what your physio is doing and why helps you to get the most out of your session. Always feel free to ask your physio if you are ever unsure about any aspect of your treatment.

Does the physio treat evidence-based, that is, according to the latest research and treatment techniques?

Physiotherapy is a profession that is very committed to applying the latest scientifically proven treatment methods. This is known as Evidence-Based Practice. Our physiotherapists at BodyViva, while already highly trained and qualified, are constantly attending further training both within and outside our clinic, to ensure our clients are receiving treatment based on the latest scientific research.

Here at BodyViva we are committed to providing a service that is superior to any other clinic. The greatest compliment we can receive is you referring your friends and family to us.

We look forward to seeing how we can help you!
